Kang’ata was born in 1980 in Murang’a County

Kang’ata attended Murang’a Township Primary School (now Vidhu Ramji Primary School) between 1986 and 1993 before being admitted to Thika High School in 1994 where in 1997 he qualified for admission to University of Nairobi for a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree.

Kang’ata is a Senior advocate in the firm Muchoki Kangata Njenga & Co. Advocates.

Kang’ata is the former member of parliament for Kiharu Constituency and a former Councillor for Central Ward in Murang’a town.

Mr Kang’ata is married and has two children Rita Mary Muthoni Kangata and Yuna Wangechi.
