Omar Mwinyi Shimbwa is a Kenyan politician and the member of parliament of Changamwe constituency in Mombasa county.

Omar Mwinyi Shimbwa was born on 1st August 1958 in the Coast province of Kenya.

Omar Shimbwa attended Bomu Primary School between 1964 and 1971 and thereafter joined Allidina Visram High School between 1972 and 1975.
Omar then joined Kagumo Teachers’ College between 1977 and 1979 for his course in teaching career.

Omar Shimbwa is a member of Orange Democratic Movement and a coalition member of Coalition for Reforms and Democracy.

Omar Shimbwa was a normal teacher between 1979 and 1981 in Merereni Primary School, Malindi before being promoted to the position of Deputy Headteacher between 1981 and 1987 in Mwajibu Primary School, Mombasa.
Between 1987 and 1988 he was the Headteacher of Chaani Primary School, Mombasa and between 1988 and 1990 he was the Headteacher of Bomu Primary School, Mombasa.
Omar Shimbwa, served as national chairman of the Islamic Party of Kenya (IPK) in 1991 before it merged with Ford-Kenya.
