Humphrey Kariuki Biography: Humphrey Kariuki is a Kenyan multi-millionaire businessman tycoon born in 1956, Nyeri county, in the Central Highlands of Kenya.
Humphrey’s name is Humphrey Kariuki Ndegwa.
Kariuki came from a family of ten siblings mainly; six sons and four daughters.
Kariuki attended Nairobi School for his O’ levels and later joined Kagumo High School for the A’ levels.
At the age of 19years, Kariuki started working at the Central Bank of Kenya as a clerical staff, and how he got into the Central Bank, its because he had cousins and people who already worked there, and they were able to get him in. Kariuki then went on to work in various other departments in the bank such as the Export department, the Foreign Exchange department, and the Imports department.
Over 30 year in the business world, Humphrey Kariuki has built and owns a vast business conglomerate The Janus Continental Group, The Hub (Karen) – a premier shopping mall located in the beautiful leafy suburbs of Karen in Nairobi; Africa Spirits, Kenya’s leading manufacturer of Alcoholic beverages; Dalbit Petroleum, one of the largest oil distributors in East and Southern Africa, and Great Lakes Africa Energy, a U.K-based company that is a developer and operator of power projects in Southern Africa.
Kariuki is also the owner of the 5-star Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club, and Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy and Animal Orphanage.
